We have been studying Tessellations in Mathematics. Tessellations are created when shapes are repeated again and again with no gaps or overlapping. We looked at Simple, Rotated and Reflected Tessellations.
We studied the work of M.C. Escher, a Dutch graphic artist, known as the 'Father of Tessellations'. He enjoyed drawing things he found in nature, like insects, landscapes and plants and was fascinated with their shape. He then transformed those basic shapes into repeating patterns and fit them together in a tessellation form.
